staying in Costa Mesa...

I am so excited and happy for this next transfer :) lots of good
things are going to happen and I'm really excited! So I'm going to be
in Costa Mesa with elder Arèvalo for another transfer. Still in the
same area where I began but I am excited to see the fruits of all the
hard work elder Maughan and I put in early on. Because basically every
person we are teaching right now, we found in our last transfer
together. We taught Angela this week and she is super excited to be
baptized this next Sunday. We taught her tithing and she told us there
is no doubt in her mind that this church is true and she needs to be
baptized. I'm so happy for her!

So this week during district meeting president and sister Bowen
stayed for our meeting. They are super awesome and it was a lot of fun
seeing how involved our mission president is and how much he loves our
Heavenly Father and savior Jesus Christ. He is super nice and after a
good district meeting he took us all out to lunch and elder Arèvalo
and I got to ride in his car with him and his wife in the way to
lunch. They are the nicest people ever. It was a sweet day.

Thursday I was on exchanges with elder Wagstaff and he is a super
good missionary. We spent the day focusing on talked to every single
person we saw. Even if it meant we had to cross streets, chase after
people, or have tons of cards ready when we saw a bus full of high
schoolers get out. It was a good day or learning and improvement. I
love those types of exchanges. It was also pretty fun just starting
conversations with people by saying, "hi, do you have Facebook" haha
we got some funny answers but actually ended up finding some really
awesome people that way. We also found this less-active lady and had
an awesome lesson with her. She said she has felt terrible every
Sunday because no matter what she would do she would always remember
that she wasn't renewing her covenants but she let excuses take over.
She was super happy we came by and promised she would come to church.
And when Sunday came around she actually came! :) it was super awesome
and the ward was really happy to have her back.

We were able to have some really good lessons with Olis. She is
still trying to find some support from her husband. All she wants from
him is to be there when she gets baptized but he is being stubborn.
She told us that won't stop her from being baptized soon but she is
just hoping and praying her husbands heart will be softened. This week
I gave a sister in our district a blessing. It's been a while since I
have been able to give one and it was a really good experience for me
to feel how strong the spirit is during them and feel how much they
are guided by the spirit. Really cool experience. I love blessings.

Had one of the best Sundays of my mission. We had Olis, Angela
and her daughter Rosi came to church and we found out that Angela and
Rosi and related to someone in the ward, so that was super awesome and
they loved being there with family. Olis received a lot of personal
revelation during one of the classes and told us she felt completely
edified. Then later we went to a baptism that the zone leaders had and
brought Olis, Angela and Rosi. They loved it. Angela got even more
excited to be baptized next week and Olis says she feels like she will
be super nervous but super excited for when she will be baptized. For
her it's only a matter of when not if she will be baptized. Rosi said
she doesn't feel ready but that she really wants to work towards it
and make the changes that she needs to get there. Well next week I
will tell you all about Angela's baptism and elder Maughan gets to
come back for it so it will good to see him too.

Con cariño,
Elder Hyde
